Tech trainings are usually a two-part training workshop to introduce refugee women to a digital tool called the MIT App Inventor. It allows beginners and people with no tech background to create customised Android apps while learning the basics of software development.
With this technology training, we aim to:
- give refugee women the confidence and tools to use new technologies, as a first step towards study and work opportunities in a promising career field;
- contribute to closing the digital gender gap by training refugee women on being creators of new technologies;
- enhance the visibility of refugee women being people with agency, creativity, great potential, and actors of the ‘tech revolution’.
