WRR organises trainings for women in a refugee situation within Europe, as well as the various actors and working with them, to create the requisite conditions conducive to realising their potential, take the lead, and become self-advocates in their local context and/or beyond.

At the moment WRR offers three different kinds of trainings:

  • Advocacy trainings for refugee women
  • Capacity building for people working with refugee women in the field
  • Tech trainings for refugee women

Tech trainings

Tech trainings are usually a two-part training workshop to introduce refugee women to a digital tool called the MIT App Inventor. It allows beginners and people with no tech background to create customised Android apps while learning the basics of software development.

Field Work Training

The goal is to train volunteers and workers on how to work with and support refugee women on the ground. Therefore, Women Refugee Route hosts workshops for volunteers and workers about who are about to or are already active in the field.
